Berkyaruk's Successes in the East

While Berkyaruk was occupied with his rivals in the struggles for sultanate in the west, another member of the same dynasty called asArslan Argun who was his uncle had declared his independency in the east of the state, and had expanded his infuential regions upon the captures of the cities such as Merv, Tirmiz and Nisabur. When Berkyaruk got rid of his rivals in the west, he decided to annihilate Arslan Argun. To this effect, he sent his other uncle, Bori-Bas towards him. Although Bori-Bas had achieved success in the beginning, he lost the war that occurred within the environs of Herat. After a while, Arslan Argun had Böri-Bas be strangled (1095).

Berkyaruk appointed his brother, Sencer as the "ruler" of Khorasan. In the same year, Mohammed b. Cagri who born the title of "Emir-i emiran" (Emir of emirs) from the same Seljuk dynasty rebelled by means of the probable support of the Gazneli State, but he was defeated by Sencer. Karahanli State repeated their submission to Berkyaruk. Berkyaruk had played role in the enthronement of three rulers to the throne of the Western Karahanli State.
