governors connected to Mosul Tutor Zengi had established dominion in Sehr-i Zor, Hakkâri,
Sincar and Harran with the centre of Erbil upon the death of Zengi (1146). Towards the end
of his life, he left his country to Mosul tutor, Mevdud due to his justice and withdrew to
Erbil (1167). His son, Tutor Muzaffer'üd-din Kök-böri had firstly been in the service
of Mosul Tutor, Seyf'üd-din Ghazi II. Then, he collaborated with Salâh'üd-din Eyyûbî
and received Urfa in return for his help and assistance (1183). Then, he married with his
sister (1185).
Upon the death of Salâh'üd-din (1193), he became
independent and protected his country through collaboration and friendly relation with
Eyyubi State and repulses of several Mongolian raids. Kok-bori developed his country with
public works in the course of his tutor dominion for a period of 44 years. He was
submissive to the Anatolian Seljuk State for a while. Upon the death of Kok-bori (1232),
the lands of Erbil tutor principality was transferred to the Abbasi caliphate due to his
testament since he had not any inheritors.
