Tug-tegin, the tutor of Seljuk State in Syria
who had been called as "Seyf'ul-Islam" due to his great struggles against the
Crusades was killed (1128). Upon his death, his son, Tacuddin Böri replaced him and
struggled with the Ismaili people that emerged as a branch of Batini order in Syria. These
Ismaili people had collaborated with the Crusades and assisted the Franks to capture the4
Damascus. Bori put to the sword nearly 20 thousands of Ismaili people and saved Damascus,
but he was killed by an Ismaili supporter (1132). He was replaced by his
sons, Ismail, Mahmud and Mehmed who became tutor successively and tried to protect their
country against Zengiogullari dynasty (1139). Pursuant to these brothers, the Tutor
Muciruddin Abak who was the son of Mehmed followed the same policy and tried to protect
the existence of the principality. Finally, the Damascus tutor principality was dissolved
upon the invasion of the Damascus by Muruddin Mahmud (Mosul Tutor) (1154).
