He was born in
Kemaliye in 1940 and graduated from School of Law at Ankara University in 1963. During his education at
university, he worked as a founder and manager at Türk Ocağı Yougth Branch between
1958-1961.
In 1961 he
founded Culture Club of University Students together with some of his friends. This club
stayed as an important place of nationalist youns for long years for their idealistic and
cultural activities.
He was the
President of Ankara Executive Board of MTTB between 1961-1963. During thees years he also
worked as a reporter and a columnist at “Son Havadis” and “Ankara Ticaret Postası”
newspapers.
He started to
work as a solicitor in 1967 and continued until 1970 when he started commercial business.
He carried out
the editorship of Ocak Magazine which is the publication of Culture Club of University
Students from 1968 to 1971.
He was among
the writers of Devlet magazine from 1969.
In 1975 he
entered in General Executive Committee of MHP and served in the party as a assistant
General Secretary between 1976-1978.
He participated
in the project of reestablishment of Türk Ocakları and Türk Yurdu magazine and became
the Director of Türk Ocağı Ankara Branch.
In the congrate
of 1996 he was selected as a General Presidence of Türk Ocatları and still carries out
this duty and is the chief writer and editor of Türk Yurdu magazine.
Being among the
founders of Türk Ocakları Training and Culture Vakf, Nuri Gürgür served in the
Executive Board of the Vakf between 1989-1992.
He has been a
member of Ankara Chamber of Commerce Assembly since 1995 and has been carrying out the
Presidency of Assemby of this Chamber since 1999.
He had two works named “Critics and Echoes”
and “Upon Nationalism”. His articles has been published in various newspapers and
magazines.
