The Chuvash geography that had been connected to
Kazan and Ulyanovsk provinces before was turned into the Chuvash Autonomous Region on the
date of 24th June 1920 and then to Chuvash Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (ÇASSR)
on the date of 21st June 1925. Chuvash Autonomous Republic was founded in the year of
1992. In accordance with the agreement concluded with the Russian Federation pursuant to
the foundation of Chuvash Autonomous Republic, the space researches, military
organisations, police organisation, the defence of borders, the justice and the finance
should be administered together. Similarly, Chuvashistan shall act as an independent
republic in the fields apart from those stated above. According to the constitution of
1992, Chuvashistan has two official and educational languages such as Russian and Chuvash
languages.
The state and political institutions were established
in the Republic of Chuvashistan. The president elected by the public, the Board of
Ministers out appointed by the President among nominates that are out of the parliament
and another parliament founded upon the narrow regional elections are on charge.
Chuvashistan has its own Constitution, flag and coat of arms. N.V. Federov, the first
President elected on the date of 21st January 1994 is still on duty.
