The Ghazi-Kumukhs (Laks) |
They settled in the center of
Daghestan. They are neighbors to the Darghins in the east, the Avras in the west and
north, Kuralis in the south. They call themselves as Lak (or Lek). Today, they live live
Akusin, Soradin, Kurakh, Rutul ve Dakhadayev counties and Makhachkale, Buynakski,
Hasavyurt ve Kaspiiski districts. Orsolle determines their population as 51.000 in 1886.
