There are various
branches of Oryat people that live in the north west of Mongolia, in Chian and Russia.
There are 115 thousands of Targut Oryan people who live in China and 40 thousands of
Koknur Oryat People. Oryat people who are the believers of shamanism live together with
the other Turkish brothers of them. They are also known as Tuva.The population and the residential places of
Oryat people and several tribes of these people are stated as follows:
Dörvöd people
(Derbed): Derbed people with the population of 70 thousands of people live in the province
of Uvs and on the banks of Uvs Lake.
Targut people: With the
population of 13 thousands of people in Mongolia, the Targut people live in the province
of Hovd. They dwell in the south of the city of Hovd and in the north and south of the
city of Bürenhayran.
Sahcin people: Sahcin
people who are composed of a branch of Targut people live in the middle and east of the
province of Hovd. Their population is about 30 thousands of people.
Bayad people (Bait):
With the population of 47 thousands of people, Bayads live in the provincer of Hobvd and
in the east of the Kar Us Nur Lake.
Darhad people:
With the population of 17 thousands of people, Darhads are the Turks who have become
Mongols.
Old
(Eleut): They live in the north of Hovd. Few of them live in the province of
Arhangay. The population of Eleut people is 15 thousands.
Mingat people (Miyangat
people): With a population of 6 thousands of people, Mingat people live in the north of
Har Us Nur Lake within the province of Uvs.
UIGHURS: Uighur
Turks that live together with the other people of Turkish lineage has a population over 17
thousands of people and there are Yellow Uighurs among them. They live in the provinces of
Bayan Ölgiy and Hovd.
UZBEKS: With
a population of 20 thousands of people, Uzbeks live in the north west of the country.
KHIRGHIZ
PEOPLE: Their places and population cannot be determined for sure. Khirghiz
people live together with Uranhay and Oryat people. The reason for the ambiguity in the
determination of their population and places is that they nearly have the same lineage
with the Kazakh, Khirghiz, Uranhay and Oryat people.
TATARS: Their
population is about 5 thousands and they have dispersed to different areas.
