TODAY’S SYRIA   

          Changes, which were lived in international systems after 1989, affected Syria. The most important problem of Damascus was the changes, lived in soviet union, where is the source of weapon and foreign help. Syria connected with the support of Moscow about economical and military fields.

 

       Political result of the changes in east block was far more serious. Esat took part in the Gulf War besides western ally because he wanted to prevent results of the changes and wanted to play a role collapsing of Saddam Hüseyin.

       Syria has a 5 billion dollar foreign loan to the western countries.

       At the beginning of 1989,because of paying short-dated loan, 100 million dollar, it had became a big problem. After 1991 foreign loans continued to increase.It was predicted that Syria has a dept about 18 billion dollar to the Varshow Alliance. Big part of the dept spent for taking weapons. The last months of 1989,Moscow,couldn’t have bought Syria’s goods giving high price as much as before and this event effected Syria’s economy.

 

      Syria, followed a policy as it tendentious of west, in Gulf War hadn’t been late taking the result of this. European union released economic help which was fıxed before and gave a loan about 200 million dollar. After acclaimed that it would help Japan about 466 million dollar. Kuwait, was first, and Syria had been given about 2 billion dollar and also credit.

 

     For instance, for building “East irrigation network” was financed by Kuwait and Gulf Sheik. This protest was given to Bulgarian company. Economic aid potentiality in Arab countries, had been closed before which was opened after the War of Gulf, re-built the work of social power.       After 1975 Baas party and (ssnp)’s application target was the same.

       It was pointed out in the book, called “History of passion (1990)”that Esat, head of the state of Syria, followed ideal “Big Syria” and it wouldn’t be a surprise to be a secret member of “Syria (SSNP) Social Nationalist Party” which was established for that reason .

      SSNP defends “Big Syria” called “Bilad El Saham”despite the “Pan Arabic” BAAS ideology. Esat hasn’t appeared in front of SSNP since 1975.It was expressed by Patrick Seale, wrote the biography of Esat, that ideological differences between SSNP and BAAS regimes had disappeared on a large scale after Syria occupied Lebanon.

      Hafız Esat, leader of Syria, completed 24 th year of her capacity in November 1994.But Esat whose health was bad, he hadn’t been seen anywhere for months at the end of 1992 and it caused different rumor. It was diagnosed at the end of 1988 that Hafız Esat was caught blood cancer. Also, he is diabetic and has heart attack Hafız Esat fall ill in November 1983.So he didn’t appear in front of the folk.

 

     When Esat disappeared in 1984.his brother, Rıfat, tried to come by capasity. T-32 tanks of “Corporation Defense” of Rıfat entered Damascus and corporations of both place came face to face with each other. This crisis was solved after Esat, who stood up his bed in spite of being ill, talk at to him. Hafız Esat wasn’t thrusting his brother, Rıfat.After that event, he lost his trust toward him completely and he began to raise his son, Basil. But Esat’s son who was raise in order to manage Syria after his father, killed in a traffic accident in January 1994. It was being accepted that it was an accident even if speculations were made about his death.An opinnion which is against to this, amphized that Babillion was killed because of his uncles, Rıfat and Cemil, who want to annihilate the bribe canals and narcotic and it was shown as an accident. Babil was in the vanguard of enterprises, which was made for controlling the drug traffic of Syria and Lebanon, started in June ,1993.

     Basil, keeps away from weapon and drug smuggling or bad actions as the other members of Esat Family, has been preparing carefully for being head of the state of Syria for last 5 years.

     According to the plan of Basil Esat and USA, Abdulhalim Haddam head of the President’s assistant, would have shared the power with bilateral management in the time after Esat. When they came to this decision, Babil was 33. He should be brought up by experienced Haddam until he was 40 in order to be a head of the state. But this scenario won’t come true any more. On the other hand, Esat’s brother (Rıfat) came back from the exile in Paris 1992.It is a position on the paper even if formal duty of Rıfat is a head of the state assistant, responsible for security and intelligence. Because military units formed 55 thousands of people and worked under the commands of Rıfat, were dispersed after crisis in 1984.And it caused that military power in Syria began to go bad. Another brother (Cemil) of Esat was managing Lazkiye before the crisis in 1984.Cemil had a political organization, called  “Ali-El-Murteza” and looked like a religion organization. Especially it is affective in the places of northwest.

     The other people, situated for power in Syria, are Hikmet Shahabi, head of General Staff, and Ali Duba, head of military intelligence and taken from the duty by Esat in January,1993.Esat kept Duba strong in order to use him as a balance element against Rıfat, tuned back in 1992.But ,it seemed in convenient for continuing to be the power focus when it was realized that Rıfat hasn’t had his old power. The other sons of Esat are Beşir, Mahher and Mejid .It is said that there isn’t enough time for them to prepare for heading of the state. One of the developments which can be appear soon, is to form a forehead with Iraq, Iran, Libya, Palestinian Homas, Lebannese Hizbullah and the other organizations in the Middle East against West. In that condition, Syria will continue to raise his support on a new level for international terrorism. If there is a military shock or difference of bloody regime in Syria after the time of Esat, it will be able to take place in a war environment, which divided the country two part. But who ever manage Syria after Esat,it can be said already that he won’t be able to manage it like Esat and he will never have a charismatic personality like him. Some news, situated in world press, in Washington Mdicate that Esat was in a difficulty during peace consultations between Syria and Israel, in January   1996.

      In the meantime, clarification, which was sent to media in the middle of January in 199- under the name of “to the all Muslims of Syria’s” by the terror organization, for salvatian of Syria on 17th April; in this clarification it was stated that, Hafız Esat ,who was leading as a dictator for many years and who destined people to live in a poor contition; confirmed Syria, oppression country.

      Manifestation for hymn of Justice, in this clarification, expressed that Hafız Esat caught an inaxarable illness and it was stated that he was about to fall down because of his hypocritical policy which he played inside of country on Muslim society and outside of country against Arab.

      In this clarification it was stated that, November of 1995,many of house and workplace in AFRİN city, north of Syria was the target of bombs attacks.

     “For salvation of Syria’s on 17th April” another expressions of terror organization it was stated that PKK terror organization was behind of the terror actions in Afrin city and Syria’s security unit arrested the terrorists, organized a bomb actions, who were the militants of the PKK.

 

      It was expressed in the part of the last clarification, which was given to Paris medias; USAULLAH ÖCALAN, was the leader of PKK terror organization, making a cooperation with Rıfat and Cemil brothers of minister, strived to Esat’s scat.

      In these days this triumvirate trying to make a dominant over people, spreading terror in the north of Syria.
